About the Granite State Baseball Association
Showcase League
The Granite State Baseball Association provides summer and fall wood
bat leagues for players of many ages. The goal is to engage as many
potential New Hampshire ball players, extending seasons, and offering
organized leagues to bring teams from all over the state together.

In 2007 the GSBA started the Fall Showcase League contacting local New
Hampshire colleges with the idea of creating a organization dedicated to
helping students reach goals of moving on to play college baseball.
Significantly behind other states due to shortened spring seasons the
Showcase League would allow these players 7 extra weeks of top
competition and at the same time give them the thrills of playing on a
college diamond in front of the scouting eyes of the schools coaches and
staff.
Originally called the "MVP Division" the Showcase League was added to
the other divisions of GSBA fall wood bat leagues. Designed to provide a
goal for all the other leagues in the GSBA. Working up through the middle
school, step up, JV, and varsity leagues. And taking your shot at the
annual try outs to be considered for the showcase program.
Fun Fact: The Fall Showcase League has been known by two other names
MVP Division, and Elite League.
In 2007 all host schools for the Showcase League were located in New
Hampshire. The inaugural season had only two teams.
The 2008 season built of the success of the first year and expanded the
program from two teams and thirty student athletes to four teams and sixty
student athletes. With more teams came a more diverse coaching staff
and the addition of a director to the program to facility growth, and continue
with organization and program success. Some things that came about in
the 2008 season:
- Creation of Showcase League specific website: www.nhbaseball.
org
- Addition of out of state host schools St. Joseph's College of Maine
and Salve Regina University in Rhode Island
- Addition of single elimination playoff tournament and an additional
week to the program with the "New Hampshire Fall Classic"
- Showcase "All-Stars" travel team formed from top players to accept
challenges regionally
- Addition of weekly and season awards
- New Granite State Baseball "Old Man" logo designed
2009 again looks to be a banner year for the Showcase League, some
things to look forward too:
- 2nd Annual New Hampshire Fall Classic hosted by St. Anselm
College
- Addition of two NCAA Division 1 Schools to the schedule: University
of Rhode Island and Harvard University
- Schedule increased to 9 weeks of baseball
- Addition of the Columbus Day Game with New Hampshire vs.
Maine @ SNHU
- Relocation of team to the Seacoast Area and addition of new
coaching staff members
- Four great tryout locations including Nashua's Holman Stadium
